Welcome to Community Trauma Conference UK

My name is Helen George and I am the Founding Director of Community Trauma Conference UK. I am also a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist & Consultant Clinical Supervisor, working in private practice, specialising in working with trauma. 

We are a not-for-profit organisation focusing on trauma and healing within racialised communities.

The roots for Community Trauma Conference UK emerged from my previous successes with BME Voices Talk Mental Health and Trauma Conference 2019 & 2020.  We have now evolved with a new vision.

Our vision is to…

• Create bespoke conference platforms for mental health practitioners, researchers and other professionals.
• Share best practice, research and diversity of thought with the wider mental health profession and beyond.
• Bring together a diverse range of voices, covering the most relevant, timely and important mental health concerns.
• Give space for new and emerging research into mental health and trauma within minoritised and racialised communities.
• Provide practitioners and organisations with the insight and skills to engage more effectively with communities.
• Become a space where researchers, practitioners and professionals can come together to network, exchange ideas and create connection. 

At the heart of all we do will be our communities…

We will be using our profits and any funding we receive to support our communities and research initiatives. 

We have exciting plans for this conference organisation and will be sharing them with you in the coming months.
